The Gray Space is a creative playground for actors, writers and theatre-makers to experiment, collaborate and create without expectation or judgement. A space where play, curiosity and truthful performance come first.
The workshops focus on devising, improvisation and connection — helping creatives step outside their comfort zones, build confidence and reconnect with why they love performing.
The Gray Space exists for the “in between” — when you feel creatively stuck, disconnected or unsure where you belong. A supportive community space to explore ideas, take risks and rediscover creative joy.

These workshops give young creatives the freedom to play, explore ideas, take risks and make something together. Through devising, improvisation and collaboration, participants will discover new ways of creating, performing and expressing themselves.
Led by theatre director and writer Iona Gray, the workshops introduce young people to the process of devising original work and explore how an idea can develop into a performance. The Gray Space has previously created original productions through this collaborative approach
No grades. No pressure. Just imagination, creativity and the freedom to play.
